Laptop temperature – optimal gameplay?

Hi,

I have a Dell xps m1530. It has an nvidia gefore 8600GT GPU. I recently installed Call of Duty: Modern Warfare on it. After about 10 minutes of running the game, I can hear the fans kick in. Slowly but surely the fan speed increases. At this point the fans are on max speed and the air being pumped out of the rear vent is quite hot. However, the gameplay does not lag at all.

Would I be correct in saying that this indicates that the computer is handling the game perfectly well (since there is no lag in gameplay) and is within the accepatble temperature range (ie is doing no damage to any of the components inside the laptop) ?

I am thinking of purchasing a laptop cooler that will blow cold air onto the bottom of the laptop and into the air vent on the bottom of the laptop. Would this also help cooling things down?

Thanks.

JB

Is it safe to use compressed air on laptop vents?

I’ve been looking at some questions on here because my laptop is running very hot…some people are saying to get a laptop cooler and a few say to blast some compressed air in the vents to get rid of dust etc and clean around the fan inside…but would using compressed air do any damage inside the laptop ??..also when I do get a cooler or clean the fan will that then make the laptop work any quicker when its not so hot ??

Laptop Cooler – How To Choose The Right Mount For Your Laptop

One of the reasons temperature on the inside of your laptop rises to abnormal levels is because of non stop usage. This is especially so if you work in enclosed quarters with insufficient air supply causing the inbuilt laptop fan to be overworked. Placing your laptop on your lap while you work is discouraged because of the amount of heat present there. This act poses a danger to the built-in software of the laptop as well as its functionality. This is why the need for a laptop cooler is urgent; to prevent the worst from happening. The cooler lowers temperatures inside and around the laptop to required standards to prevent loss of information. Different cooling products from different retailers and manufactures are on offer in the market today. The important factor to consider when purchasing a cooler is how compatible it is to your laptop. Compatibility is measured in terms of connectivity to your laptop and in the case of an advanced cooler, its compatibility to your software. The market has cooler pads with features like card readers to read your memory sticks or key drives. External power may be used for the cooler because they come accompanied with power adaptors. However for advanced coolers, power maybe drawn from the laptop because they come with an in built USB port. Apparatus like the flash disk can be plugged in from here as well. Not all coolers work in the same way. Each cooler has its own working mechanism. Some are designed to absorb heat from the lower side of the laptop when the CPU cooling fan is not working well. Other coolers work by blowing cooler air directly to your laptop. There are some coolers that have fixed speed while others allow you to adjust the speed of the fan taking the environment into consideration. So whether you are in need of a cooler for your laptop or for your Notebook Hard Drive, consider the above facts. And of course the pricing of the product matters. The prices are determined by the features that a particular product has as well as the retail price recommended by the vendor or the manufacturer. For more information, you can look at online guides and PC magazines that are usually readily available. This gives you a chance to read the product reviews and also compare prizes. Remember to check the compatibility of the cooler before you buy it. With all this information, you will be able to make an informed decision about the laptop cooler that suits your machine.

Daniel Lim, a professional system expert in Computer and Networking industry, has come up with a new website http://www. GoGoFan. com which is an ultimate resource for all CPU cooling fan and system cooling products. To know more about the top quality cooling products, just log on to the website CPU Cooling Fan

Laptop Cooler Advice…?

Does anyone know of a good laptop cooler that will work with my Dell Inspiron 1520 by blowing air up onto the bottom of my laptop. Most coolers seem to blow air in the opposite direction.. Cheers
I’ve been using the laptop on a flat surface and it still seems to overheat and shut down when playing demanding games (supreme commander).
