Does Macbook air play games?

im getting a macbook air. Not much of a computer gamer but I was wondering do you need to buy the cd drive to play games on it or can i just install them using remote disk and then just play them whenever?

    The Macbook Air’s specs are quite low. Besides, Mac is a TERRIBLE platform for gaming. I wouldn’t recommend gaming on it.

    the apple superdrive will be able to run them better and faster, but you could remote install them because thats what the air was initially made to do… you would have to download a “no cd crack” to be able to run the game without the disk once installed, either way your going to be fine….
    p.s. there isnt too many games for mac out, just a heads up!

    The Macbook Air features a 9400mGT, so you can play light titles like Sims 3 and WoW on it, but not much more. If you buy real discs, then yes, you’ll need an optical drive. If you can find pirated OSX versions, probably not. Sucks that things are sometimes easier for the pirates, but they are. Thankfully, Newegg has a $50 Lucky Goldstar DVD writer, and it will operate fine under OSX.
