Not sure why you had a problem with your item. I would return it as faulty. I’ve just taken delivery of one and it is just as good as the original supplied with my Airbook.

After the first couple of uses the bit that goes into the socket came apart exposing live wires and making it almost impossible to take the adaptor out of the socket. Bad design, bad execution and potentially lethal
